Since 2008, Marvel Studios has built its cinematic universe and given us a new cinematic experience like never before. DC Comics and Warner Bros are doing everything under their powers to create a similar atmosphere. So far, DC has released eight comic book-based films. There have been mixed views about their production but have made way for even better releases. A lot of their projects were announced be released in 2020, but things don’t always go the way we planned. DC Entertainment co-presidents Geoff Johns and Diane Nelson had many expecting and significant changes to the scheduled movie release du to Covid-19. While the fans were waiting the most out of this year from DC, few movies had to postpone releases or have stopped filming. We have to stay tuned to the upcoming news to know more. Till then, welcome back to Watch Tank, today we are counting down our top 5 upcoming DC movies that will blow your mind away.
5. Black Adam
The film is based on an anti-hero named Black Adam, an upcoming film by DC. The film said to serve as Shazam’s prequel and is the eleventh instalment in DCEU. It is scheduled to release in December 2021, but due to the sudden hit by the pandemic, the film will resume its production in 2021. Black Adam was supposed to be introduced in Shazam, but later the creators thought of giving the audience a treat to their eye and deserved a single picture. Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, will feature playing the role of Black Adam, the eponymous anti-hero, an ancient Egyptian. Although not much is revealed about the cast of the film, Noah Centineo, from the popularity of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is supposed to play the role of Atom Smasher/Albert Rothstein.
It seems like James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, Robert Pattinson-led Batman and The Flash will all make an entry with Black Adam.
4. The Suicide Squad
DCEU’s Suicide Squad, written by David Ayer, has gone beyond DC’s core heroes. Though the film did not hit much success compared to their brilliant marketing techniques. It is because of their commercial success that they planned another sequel, The Suicide Squad, also known as Suicide Squad 2. When Marvel Studios has fired James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, Warner Bros chose to take a chance with him. The Suicide Squad is supposed to be different while keeping some of their earlier characters a part of the film, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtenay, Viola Davis and others will be seen on screen, and additionally, new roles have also been reported come on screen. Gunn was supposed to get two of his Guardians of the Galaxy stars from the Marvel to DC universe. DC universe’s villains are going to gang up again for yet another challenging and dangerous mission. Thankfully, The Suicide Squad is one of the films that had wrapped up it’s filming back in February before the pandemic hit the world. It has managed to avoid delays. It is scheduled its release in August 2021.
3. The Batman
The Batman movie was initially supposed to be written and directed by Ben Affleck, a DCEU standalone Batman film. Ben Affleck had also planned to play the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. But tables turned as Ben, in 2017, took a step down from playing the creative role, Batman in the film. Later Ben officially exited DCEU. Warner Bros had to take charge to the mess which started hunting for a younger replacement. Robert Pattinson was eventually chosen for the movie. The audience has high expectation from the Twilight star Robert Pattinson, especially in the role of Batman. The makers
of the film have reported that they have resumed shooting the movie in England. They also revealed that The Batman has one thing in common with The Dark Night Rises. 2. Wonder Woman 1984
This is something promising since its first movie. Wonder Woman 1984 is the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The discussion of the film had begun right after the successful release of the first film back in 2017. Wonder Woman has been both commercially and critically appreciated, making it one of the most successful super-hero movies of all times. The Wonder Woman sequel was promised in July 2017by directed Patty Jenkins and making sure, the star, Gal Gadot made her return there. Gal Gadot first appeared in Batman vs Superman then she reprised her role as Diana in Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman 1984 is a matured version of Diana, and she has evolved from the first movie which was the coming of age. Here she understands the complexities of life yet something magical awaits us. The film transports us to 1980 during the final days of the Cold War. The film had pushed its release for the 4th time from December 2019 to October 2020.

The film is still in the making and has planned its release sometime in 2022. Though the plot and casting are still scarce, the film is in the making to sail. ·
Initially, Batgirl wasn’t planned to be a DC film until Avengers’ director Joss Whedon wanted to make the film till she gave up after repeated attempts. Warner Bros. finally took the film up and is the script is being written by the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey. ·
- Aquaman 2
After hitting more than $1.14 billion at the worldwide box office, Aquaman 2 is surely in the making with the writers and producers, David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Peter Safran, respectively. And Jason Momoa is the Aquaman.
1. DC Super Pets
Jared Stern, the writer of The LEGO Batman Movie, is the man behind writing DC Super-Pets is an animated movie. This movie is not a sequel or a particular DCEU narrative, and they plan this diversion to expend DC universe from their mainstream path. The film is produced by Patty Hicks which features the furry creatures belonging to Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. It features, Aquaman’s seahorse Storm and the space squirrel, Krypto the Superdog, Ace the Bat-Hound Wonder Woman’s kangaroo Jumpa, and Green Lantern B’ dg. And the several other animals. Warner Bros. has pushed DC Super Pets’ release days Initially it was supposed to hit theatres on May 2021 which has now changed to May 2022. The plot runs around an alien creature who is trying to move earth to their solar system, and they were trying to gain control over the super-heroes on earth. The super-heroes knew this wasn’t their piece of cake to mind these aliens. The super-heroes realised how animals were ineffective by these aliens, so the super-heroes call upon Super Pets for their rescue.
